I’m Kelly Garrity, CEO & Founder of The Savvy Generalist. Over the past 18+ years in nonprofit and association leadership, I’ve learned that the work we love often comes with sleepless nights — juggling grants, boards, staff, and big-picture vision.
My favorite fundraising moment? Getting pied in the face by the top fundraiser. My most challenging? Overhauling membership dues while updating standards of excellence for patient advocacy organizations. My wonkiest? Learning about CAHPS® surveys for a patient-informed project.
Now, I take everything I’ve learned — the wins, the challenges, and yes, even the pie-in-the-face moments — and help nonprofit leaders create practical, manageable systems.
